We've had a great influx of young players of a pretty decent level and in this years National Cadet League, Sanford will have 2 teams in the mix. We are anticipating a good performance from both teams after last years performance, finishing 3rd in the top Division, which was the best result the Cadets have ever achieved.
This year we will have18 teams competing against one another, coming from Lillington, Cardiff,Aelybryn, Cirencester, Banbury, Evesham, BJTTC, Ferndale, Cheltenham and Sanford.
The A team will be captained by Adam who is in his second year accompanied by Benji, winner of the Wiltshire Under 15's and Theo,Wiltshire U13's .
Our B team with consist of newcomers to the National Cadets. We have Jack and Sam twin brother's and Finlay all newcomers to the team in addition to Sienna.

It was a good start for players especially new players Sam, Jack, Theo, Benji and Finlay.
All players done very well and there were some good rallies and a lot of the matches went down to the wire.
We got it all to do again on Day 2 in December. Well done everyone
National Cadet Day 2 saw another excellent display at Cirencester. Sanford A team went one better and held the top seeds Cardiff A to a 3-3 draw but could of won this encounter. They beat Cheltenham B 5-1, Cirencester 5-1 and Lillington Free Church 5-1. They were held to a 3-3 draw by a much improved Evesham team. These great results will see Sanford A in the top flight Division 1 going into Day 3.
Sanford B fought hard and kept being beaten in five setters and did not reflect how hard they played. Losing 4-2 to BJTTC and Evesham A, 6-0 to Lillington Church A. Their only victory came against Banbury B winning 6-0. Sanford B will start day 3 in Division 3.
Overall it was encouraging to see how positive the players took everything in their stride. Well done to all players and all teams who played in Day 2. Roll on Sunday 26th January for more action. Please come along and support Sanford Cadets.
Sanford Cadets put on a good display at Cirencester on Sunday as day 3 of the National Cadets League commenced. Sanford A competed against some of the best teams such as Lillington Tree Church and Cardiff.
Many of these players are Nationally ranked, but we put up a good fight and many matches went to the wire, which was all credit to them losing Lillington Tree Church A 0-6 Lillington B 2-4 and Cardiff A 1-5 . A good number of these matches went on to a five setter decider, ending with the opposition coming through stronger.
The team scored a few points on the day beating Evesham A and Cheltenham A 5-1, which puts us in a credible mid table position.
Sanford B new to the National Level finished 2nd on the day. Defeating Ferndale and Evesham 4-2 defeating Banbury B 6-0 Cheltenham B 5-1 only losing 1 match to Banbury A losing 6-0.
Sanford A and B teams are looking forward to the final day in March. The teams all played in good spirit and it was a hard day for them all.
Well done to everyone and special thanks to Brian Wilde from Warminster and his support throughout the day. See you all for the final day in March.
Day 4 Final Report
Tremendous display put in by the A team. Up against it right from the start with only 2 players, we were missing our life wire Theo. But the team come out all guns blazing, defeating Cardiff A 4-2, one of the favourites defeating Evesham A 4-2 drawing with Cheltenham A and Lillington Free Church B and losing to the winners of the division Lillington Free Church A, Will a full team out we would of finished 3rd in the table if we were at full strength. But well done to the team and thank you for the support from parents and well done to the winners. Averages to follow
