Its time to work off ALL the pork pies, turkey sandwiches and mince pies and Christmas cake. First Table Tennis session at Swindon Academy is on the 5th of January 2018 all new players welcome. Also we have the New Friday night League starting on 12th of January, so get your name down.

NITYA SHINES FOR HER COUNTY

Nitya Joshi who plays for Sanford Link TTC and trains at Swindon Academy represented her County for 1st time at Southampton ( Waterside TTC ) she was in a class of her own winning all of her matches against Sussex and Hampshire.

NITYA JOSHI AND MICHEAL YU CROWNED CHAMPIONS

The last session at Swindon Academy produced 2 good finals full of drama especially in the Consolation singles final which produce a five setters epic between George Nuthall and Micheal Yu. Micheal with his attack game and George playing with short pimples which causes some problems for Micheal. Micheal it was end to end stuff not knowing who was going to win the next point, eventually Micheal coming through a worthy winner. The Main Event saw a Doug Stimson experience Div 1 player, take on the up coming 12 year star Nitya Joshi.Doug could not keep pace with Niyta attack losing the first 2 sets. SWINDON ACADEMY HANDICAP NIGHT

Swindon Academy Handicap and Consolations took place on Friday the 8th of December. Group A saw all family affair Edward beating Sam booking his place in the Semi-final. Group B Doug S beat John M to compete against Edward in the Semi-final. Group C saw Nitya J beat Dominic P proceeding to the semi-final. Group D Saw experience Div 1 Ethan G beat Gary S for a place in the other Semi-final against Nitya. First Group Semi-final Saw a entertaining match between Doug S and Edward P battling it out, Doug the more experienced player coming out on top proceeding to the Grand final. Second Group Semi-final was between Ethan and Nitya which had everything, Nitya attacking right on at off hitting main

NATIONAL CADETS NEWS DAY 2

Sanford Link Cadets started day 2 with a draw against Cheltenham losing to Evesham, and beating Stroud 4-2 and defeating Banbury A 5-1 finishing off with a 4-2 win against Nailsworth. Nitya made her debut winning ALL of her match apart of one losing 2 nets and edges in the final game. Sam and Edward got their game together and show what they can do. Marcus dis very well lot was mainly due using a better bat, maybe he will update his current one. This was strong performance, with the assistance from Thomas Jeffcott and myself well done from everybody and the parents too. Day 3 will be interesting when a new division 2 is formed. watch this space.
